About The Position

Fitness Instructor (Senior Living Community) Bring energy, connection, and wellness to our community—right here in Nazareth, PA. Morningstar Living in Nazareth, PA is seeking a Part-Time Fitness Instructor to lead fun, engaging group fitness classes for our residents. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about fitness, enjoys working with older adults, and loves creating an upbeat, encouraging environment. With 3–5 morning classes per week, you’ll help residents stay strong, active, and connected—while starting your day by making a meaningful difference. Our organization opened the Moravian Hall Square campus in 1988. This location is now home to over 300 senior residents experiencing the regions' best services in Assisted Living, Memory Support Care, Rehabilitation, and Nursing Care. Heritage Village Campus sits on 50+ acres of lush countryside offering a cottage community in a village setting. Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • At least 1-3 years Group Fitness experience
  • Group Fitness Certification(s) from a nationally recognized organization such as; AFAA or ACE or hold a Program specific certification(s) such as; Zumba Gold, Silver Sneakers or Silver and Fit
  • Flexible schedule is essential
  • Computer skills: should know Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Apple products
  • Current CPR, AED, First Aid
  • Current, valid driver’s license in good standing

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction on Group Fitness classes, and if applicable water aerobics, and other programs/classes as needed specifically designed for the Geriatric population
  • Provide instruction on effective workout methods; demonstrate proper techniques; identify different muscle groups and explain appropriate methods to improve muscles groups
  • High degree of energy, patients and strong endurance is required while physically completing the workout along with the residents
  • Assist residents, answer questions, maintain a positive exercise experience and positively motivate class participants
  • Demonstrate knowledge of class management strategies and the incorporation of age-appropriate music, tempo, cueing technique and rhythm
  • Orients new users to all equipment and safety protocols
  • Build effective, authentic relationships with the residents; and help them connect with each other.  Encourage involvement/participation in other events and identify potential volunteers
