The Fitness Experience Specialist creates a welcoming environment for all members of all backgrounds and abilities.

Requirements

18 years of age or older.
CPR/AED certifications must be current and/or completed within 6 months of employment.
Must have technical skills in the operations and use of a variety of fitness equipment.

Nice To Haves

Preferred 6 months - 1 year of customer service experience.
Preferred experience in cleaning, such as housekeeping, commercial dayporting, etc.

Responsibilities

Assured wellness areas and equipment are kept clean throughout the day, sanitizing frequently, particularly before and after member use. Maintain a high standard of cleanliness through attention to detail in the wellness center through hourly checks.
Monitor all areas of the wellness center, including free weight and cardio, and select machine areas to ensure safety.
Engage with members on the wellness floor and in group exercise classes. This includes talking with, assisting, demonstrating, and enhancing their YMCA experience.
Assist other departments with duties as required that ensure the friendliness, cleanliness, and overall safety of members.
Stay current with advances in the health and wellness field.
Familiarize and understand all wellness programs to promote and educate YMCA members.
