Position Overview: Recreation and Wellness seek a Student Worker to support the Fitness Center at Campus Town. This role helps ensure (key outcomes).

Requirements

  • Must be a current The College of New Jersey Student
  • Successfully complete or renewed CPR, First Aid, and AED training
  • Must have at least 1 semester of work experience at the Fitness Center at Campus Town
  • Knowledge of all Fitness Center policies, procedures, and facilities
  • Demonstrate maturity and responsibility
  • Strong communication and customer service skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for all employees and serve as a positive role model and teacher, and being a point person for the Associates
  • Assist with all staff training(s) of new Fitness Center Associates, Fitness Center Student Managers, Interns and employees
  • Monitor employees conduct (good/bad)
  • Complete Manager Log: To address associates, what they are doing/not doing, what are they coming short of in terms of job expectations/responsibilities; what they are doing well
  • Monitor and enforce facility use and participant conduct
  • Ensure all paperwork/Google logs have been completed correctly and filed electronically, if appropriate (daily report, incidents, accidents, head counts/usage, memberships, roves, etc.), as well as reservations, equipment, and key sign in/out procedures
  • Assist with any problems that occur throughout the facility. This may include emergency maintenance concerns, employee substitution and “no-show” coverage, participant conflicts, special events, etc.
  • Fitness Challenges - create, operate, market, etc.
