About The Position

The Fitness Center Lead Assistant supports the Fitness Center Manager with Open Recreation operations and patron services, including advising patrons on proper use of exercise equipment. Duties include, but are not limited to, providing customer service to Fitness Center patrons; enforcing Fitness Center rules and safety standards; maintaining an organized, clean, and safe environment; serving as first responder in emergency situations following College protocol; and performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia. Work is generally performed on the College campus unless otherwise specified.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED is required
• CPR/AED certification
• Certification in fitness and/or personal training
• A minimum of 1 year of work experience in the fitness industry
• Familiarity with MS Office applications
• Excellent customer service skills
• Knowledge of CPR/AED and first aid procedures

• Fitness instruction experience
