About The Position

The Fitness Associate will contribute to the vision, mission, and values of the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation by providing excellent member service, implementing standard operations, and enforcing policies, monitoring, & cleanliness in the Fitness Center including equipment & laundry. Assist in the supervision and safe operation of the fitness center Create and maintain a comfortable and welcome customer service environment where every member and guest is treated with dignity and respect, in a friendly, personalized manner Supervise and safely operate the fitness center by performing cleaning and preventative maintenance as required. Will routinely make rounds of JCC facilities to provide an excellent member experience Promote all JCC programs, services, and events to members and guests, answering in-person exchanges in a professional, friendly manner, and offering specific information as needed Assist guests in obtaining information, conducting equipment orientations & administering InBody 570 assessments Will work to support an excellent experience by identifying and responding to the needs of the members and guests of the JCC Communicate and cooperate with colleagues, members, and JCC leadership as part of the JCC Fitness team, including attending staff meetings as needed Adhere to all JCC and departmental policies Complete all additional duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements

• Fitness Associate must have current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications (must be obtained within 60 days of hire).
• They must be able to physically and verbally demonstrate proper usage of equipment.
• Physical requirements include: lifting, pushing/pulling, squatting/bending, and walking.
• Also required to communicate clearly and professionally with members at all times.

Nice To Haves

• Wellness experience is preferred but not required.
• College coursework in health and sport sciences and certification as a trainer or group fitness instructor are also preferred but not required.

Responsibilities
