About The Position
Welcome to Fitlife! The Group Fitness Coordinator (GFC) position is a dynamic and engaging role that plays a crucial part in the success of our Group Fitness programs. As the GFC, you will supervise all Group Fitness Instructors, maintain the class schedule, and coordinate all aspects of the Group Fitness offerings. This position requires a strong background in teaching a variety of Group Fitness classes, as well as the ability to work independently while guiding and supervising staff. You will be responsible for ensuring that all instructors maintain their Les Mills Group Fitness Instructor certification and that they are providing high-quality classes to our members. In this role, you will be expected to demonstrate core values such as caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in all interactions with members and staff. You will ensure that our customer service is of the highest quality and that our members feel valued and supported. The position requires part-time weekday hours, with some evening and weekend hours as needed to accommodate class schedules and events. You will project a professional image at all times, maintaining a neat appearance and a positive demeanor. Your responsibilities will include hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating all Group Fitness Instructors, as well as scheduling all Group Fitness classes and updating schedules seasonally. You will keep schedules accessible throughout the club and communicate any updates to the social media team. Monitoring the certifications of Group Fitness Instructors is essential to ensure compliance and safety. Additionally, you will maintain fitness equipment, coordinate specialty classes, and stay informed about new trends in Group Fitness. You will also be responsible for payroll processing and organizing staff meetings or appreciation events. Regular communication with the General Manager (GM) about group fitness activities and any scheduled time off is crucial for the smooth operation of the department.
