About The Position

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid minimum Class E State of Florida driver's license.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment and tools.
• Knowledge of wildlife and land management practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

• Valid Class A CDL.
• S-130/S-190 wildland fire certifications.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and repair various equipment including trucks, ATVs, UTVs, swamp buggies, tractors, and other tools.
• Perform infrastructure construction, maintenance, and repair including fences, buildings, gates, roads, and signs.
• Assist biologists with land management activities such as prescribed burning and invasive plant control.
• Prepare and submit accurate documentation including timesheets and equipment use reports.
• Operate hunter check stations to collect biological data from harvested game.
• Interact with partner agencies and the public to provide information on wildlife management and regulations.
• Attend regional and divisional meetings and trainings as required.

Benefits

• Biweekly salary of $1,346.15 ($35,000 annually) + benefits.
• Employment contingent upon successful completion of a background check.
