Fisheries Technician I (Hourly)
About The Position
Assist with sampling on the Missouri River to support the Pallid Sturgeon Population Assessment Program. Essential Job Duties Assist with sampling (trotlining and active telemetry tracking) of pallid sturgeon on the Missouri River. Processing biological samples, data entry and QA/QC, and equipment maintenance as needed Perform general maintenance on tools, gear, and equipment. Maintain accurate inventory of items and equipment. Perform general administrative functions, such as answering phones and emails, maintaining publications, research, purchasing supplies, etc. Occasional overnight travel may be required. Ancillary Job Duties Other duties as assigned. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED/HiSET required.
- One (1) year of related professional experience.
- Must maintain a valid, current driver's license.
- Ability to pass an approved boating safety course and obtain a Missouri Boating Safety Certification Card within 6 months of employment.
- Ability to operate boats, outboard motors, power tools and large trucks pulling trailers.
- Ability to use office equipment, such as computer, calculator, camera, scanner and printer.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and perform data entry.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to travel and work varying shifts, as required.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with fishery science.
