Darrah Springs Hatchery is seeking a dedicated, career-oriented individual to oversee the operation of a large-scale trout production facility. As the Fish Hatchery Manager I, you will manage a team of 7 permanent employees and 2 seasonal workers, ensuring the efficient daily operations of the hatchery. In this role, you'll be responsible for supervising staff performance, conducting evaluations, and taking appropriate action, including disciplinary measures when needed. You will create work schedules, coordinate stocking and fishing events, and monitor ongoing projects related to grounds maintenance, fish culture, rearing, stocking, water quality, data collection, and biosecurity programs. Additionally, you will oversee the maintenance and repair of vehicles, equipment, and facilities, ensuring the hatchery operates at its best. Promoting a culture of safety and providing training opportunities for staff will also be a key aspect of your responsibilities.
