About The Position

The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission is seeking a seasonal Fish Culturist to assist in the propagation, care, and stocking of fish species to enhance fishing opportunities for the public. This role involves outdoor work and provides a chance to contribute to fisheries management goals while learning essential skills in fish handling and transportation.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school or equivalent certification of formal training.
• Possession of a valid Pennsylvania Driver's License.
• Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License for vehicles of 26,000 lbs. or more before completing the probationary period.
• Meet the PA residency requirement.
• Ability to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

• Collect and select brood stock while minimizing stress, injury, and mortality to fish.
• Operate a fish stocking vehicle safely and timely.
• Load and transport fish, ensuring they are delivered in excellent condition.
• Monitor fish and take appropriate actions as needed.
• Perform repairs and maintenance to buildings, equipment, and grounds.
