About The Position

In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements: Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters. Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN). Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable. A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester. Federal Work Study student may apply. Support first-year students throughout the academic year by creating touchpoints for belonging, engagement, and continued connection beyond orientation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: FYE Ambassadors support first-year students and families through peer mentorship, programming, and outreach.

  • To be eligible for consideration, applicants must attend one of the scheduled Student Leader Information Sessions. These sessions are designed to help you understand the expectations of the role, the time commitment, and how our student leaders contribute to building a meaningful campus community. Attendance at an info session is required in order to move forward in the selection process.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a peer ambassador for first-year students, offering guidance, encouragement, and support
  • Facilitate group meetings and optional 1:1 check-ins to support student transition and belonging
  • Build relationships with incoming and first-year students, with particular attention to off-campus first-year students
  • Support planning and execution of First Year Experience programs and initiatives
  • Assist with developing and supporting welcome series events and orientation and training week programming
  • Help plan and support Family Weekend programming
  • Support ongoing events and programs for parents and families throughout the academic year
  • Assist with planning, tabling, and facilitating first-year-focused programming initiatives
  • Support creation and distribution of a bi-weekly First Year Experience newsletter
  • Assist with webinars, virtual socials, and onboarding-related programming
  • Conduct outreach to parents and families to share resources, programs, and support opportunities
  • Support development and distribution of FYE-related swag and welcome materials
  • Serve as peer navigators by helping students identify and access campus resources and services
  • Share information about involvement opportunities, support services, and campus life
