The First Processing Supervisor plays a critical leadership role in overseeing the initial stages of product or material processing within a manufacturing or production environment. This position ensures that all first processing operations are executed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with quality standards to meet production goals. The supervisor will lead a team of operators and technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance management to optimize workflow and maintain high productivity levels. They will also collaborate closely with other departments such as quality control, maintenance, and logistics to resolve issues and implement process improvements. Ultimately, the First Processing Supervisor is responsible for maintaining a smooth and effective first processing line that supports the overall success of the production facility.

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the first processing team to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks.
  • Monitor production processes and equipment to maintain quality standards and operational efficiency.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate team members to foster skill development and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Identify and troubleshoot process bottlenecks or equipment malfunctions, collaborating with maintenance and engineering teams to implement solutions.
  • Maintain detailed records of production metrics, incidents, and team performance to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or processing environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or team lead role.
  • Strong understanding of first processing operations and production workflows.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team while maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing management, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards relevant to processing operations.
  • Proficiency in using manufacturing execution systems (MES) or enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret production data and implement process enhancements.
