About The Position

The First Line Risk Manager is a hybrid role responsible for supporting the General Bank by managing risks and controls across various risk types. This position serves as the first line of defense in risk management, ensuring adherence to the company's risk appetite and corporate strategy. The role involves engaging with business units, facilitating risk policies, and providing advisory support to effectively manage risks while maintaining communication with the Risk Management Department and regulators.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Financial Services and First Line Risk, Enterprise Risk or Operational Risk.
  • High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in Financial Services and First Line Risk, Enterprise Risk or Operational Risk.

Responsibilities

  • Support and execute various risk programs and Business Unit (BU) risk activities.
  • Engage with the BU in management of risks and controls across all risk types.
  • Facilitate and monitor execution of risk policies, procedures, and program requirements.
  • Provide advisory support to effectively manage risks.
  • Serve as a communication channel between the Risk Management Department, regulators, and FCB business units.
  • Monitor, track, and report on issue and mitigation plan status for all general bank issues.
  • Facilitate executive management and governance routines to provide issue management status and updates.
  • Own the issue documentation process to capture critical data fields and ensure due dates are reasonable.
  • Partner with FRM leaders to ensure consistency across all general bank activities.
  • Establish a general bank audit/exam playbook to support standardization and best practices.
  • Conduct thematic analysis to identify programmatic weaknesses and potential impacts.
  • Collaborate with ERM on reporting needs and process improvements.
