The Boeing Company is actively seeking a First Line Leader located in Mesa, AZ. The ideal candidate will lead a multi-skilled engineering team to create and maintain design integrity for the Attack helicopter portfolio and other enterprise products. Team may include design engineers, producibility/manufacturing engineers, tooling engineers, and configuration management specialists. Systems span fuselage, airframe & secondary structures, rotor blades & rotor hub systems, and enterprise support for other product lines.

  • Ensure Safe Products & People - Create and maintain policies and processes that ensure safety in designs and rework instructions. Ensure that adequate oversight of designs is being performed. Engage with the team to ensure that all decisions are made with consideration of safety of product and people.
  • Support Production & the Field - Prioritize work to ensure that production and field issues are addressed in an expedient manner. Weigh courses of action to best serve the production and field environment.
  • Innovate for our Future - Inspire innovation on the team. Seek out and support initiatives that provide avenues for innovative work to be performed by engineering. Provide business cases to capture new work. Provide engineers the space and opportunity to creatively engage in innovative design solutions.
  • Keep Commitments - Manage the workload to ensure that work is being done within budget and timeframe expectations. Encourage the team to proactively bid work that can be accomplished with given resources. Find solutions when issues arise with meeting budget or schedule targets. Set quality targets and lead the team to achieve high quality work.
  • Strengthen the Team - Reward, recognize, and encourage employees. Support the team by sponsoring Technical Lead Engineers, Tech Fellowship, and mentoring programs. Ensure that training needs are identified and fulfilled. Proactively implement knowledge transfer programs.
  • Communicate - Provide accurate, timely, and audience-appropriate communication.
  • Bachelor's in aerospace/mechanical engineering (or related).
  • 6+ years of engineering experience.
  • 2+ years leading technical teams.
  • Experience with rotorcraft structures, airframes, or related systems.
  • Familiarity with configuration management, producibility, and manufacturing engineering practices.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with aerospace part suppliers.
  • Data analysis using MS Excel, communication using MS PowerPoint.
  • Highly preferred: current, active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Proven experience in structural design for aircraft airframes and tooling.
  • Proven experience in structural design of rotor blades and rotor hub systems.
  • Experience in structural design for fixed-wing aircraft, satellites, or space vehicles.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques and production planning.
  • Experience using Earned Value Management (EVM) principles and tools.
  • Proficiency with advanced data analytics platforms (e.g., Tableau).
  • Familiarity with digital collaboration and documentation tools (e.g., Confluence).
