Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred
  • Possession of a valid Pennsylvania teaching certification appropriate to assignment OR the ability to obtain necessary emergency certification based on the district’s needs
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity-centered teaching and continuous improvement
  • Strong instructional planning, classroom management, and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction that develops students’ critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity.
  • Establish a classroom environment where all students feel valued, challenged, and supported.
  • Integrate real-world applications and interdisciplinary connections to support authentic learning and transfer.
  • Use culturally responsive instructional strategies that honor students’ identities, experiences, and perspectives.
  • Use formative and summative assessment to monitor student progress and adjust instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Communicate effectively with families and caregivers as partners in student learning.
  • Engage in continuous professional learning aligned to district priorities and instructional best practices.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and administrators to improve instruction and student outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records related to instruction, assessment, and student progress.
  • Uphold district policies, professional ethics, and Pennsylvania Department of Education requirements.
  • Contribute positively to the school community and district culture.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
