About The Position

To serve as a first grade teacher in fulfillment of GCA’s mission to Lead, Build, and Equip students. Responsibilities

Give instruction to the students in the curricula area assigned by the Principal
Design teaching material
Create lessons centered around a biblical worldview
Facilitate course discussions on social issues from a biblical lens while acknowledging various denominational differences
Devise lesson plans that follow GCA’s Curriculum and Instruction Standards and Course Maps
Ability to hold students to a clearly articulated standard of performance
Experiment with different teaching methods
Differentiate instruction for students with learning challenges
Maintain a positive classroom environment that promotes safe learning
Utilize learning management system for instruction
Update grades and lesson plans on Renweb
Maintain cordial relationships with the home, parent(s)/guardian(s) and community
Keep parent(s)/guardian(s) duly informed of the child’s progress and hold conferences with parent(s)/guardian(s) when necessary
Report to the appropriate authorities when one knows or reasonably suspects that a child’s health or welfare has been or appears to have been harmed as a result of abuse or neglect.
Establish and maintain satisfactory, respectful working relationships within the school environment
Perform other duties as assigned
