About The Position

To serve as a first grade teacher in fulfillment of GCA’s mission to Lead, Build, and Equip students. Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Give instruction to the students in the curricula area assigned by the Principal
  • Design teaching material
  • Create lessons centered around a biblical worldview
  • Facilitate course discussions on social issues from a biblical lens while acknowledging various denominational differences
  • Devise lesson plans that follow GCA’s Curriculum and Instruction Standards and Course Maps
  • Ability to hold students to a clearly articulated standard of performance
  • Experiment with different teaching methods
  • Differentiate instruction for students with learning challenges
  • Maintain a positive classroom environment that promotes safe learning
  • Utilize learning management system for instruction
  • Update grades and lesson plans on Renweb
  • Maintain cordial relationships with the home, parent(s)/guardian(s) and community
  • Keep parent(s)/guardian(s) duly informed of the child’s progress and hold conferences with parent(s)/guardian(s) when necessary
  • Report to the appropriate authorities when one knows or reasonably suspects that a child’s health or welfare has been or appears to have been harmed as a result of abuse or neglect.
  • Establish and maintain satisfactory, respectful working relationships within the school environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
