The First Article Specialist is responsible for translating engineering design requirements into inspection plans and works both sides of inspection: 1) creation of inspection plans and 2) review/approval of completed inspection plans. The First Article Specialist may also assist with shop floor documentation, illustrations and graphics to demonstrate the manufacturing or verification processes. Review data and models for engineering and quality requirements and compile said requirements. Review CMM inspection plans to engineering and quality requirements. Develop inspection plans to support process capability and verification (reference ICLS, AS9102, receiving inspection check list by form #’s) Review FAI documentations for approval Develop and Track FAI signals to ensure necessary resource allocation to achieve OTD Coordinate source inspection dates and handle onsite customer source inspection Perform tasks on schedule, and coordinate schedule with department and other necessary personnel. Ability to maintain regular, punctual, and reliable attendance as set by the supervisor according to handbook guidelines consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards. Abide by all safety, quality, personnel, and other policies as applicable. Train and then maintain customer inspection capabilities (Ex. Sikorsky (DQR), MR (DSQR)) Ideal candidates will have experience with ISO9001 or AS9100 Quality systems.
