Requirements

  • Programming/scripting skills (e.g. C/C++, Python)
  • Debug techniques and methodologies
  • Extensive experience with common lab equipment, including protocol/logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Extensive knowledge of embedded system firmware development and debugging
  • Experience with RTOS, multicore/multithreaded firmware development
  • Knowledge of SoC architecture, low-power optimization techniques in silicon devices
  • Knowledge of firmware simulation flow, model development, and firmware testability with an understanding of model limitations
  • Must be a self-starter, and able to independently drive tasks to completion with strong leadership

Responsibilities

  • Driving technical innovation to improve AMD’s capabilities across validation, including firmware, simulation model and script development, technical and procedural methodology enhancement, and various internal and cross-functional technical initiatives
  • Develop and debug firmware for power management feature in AMD products
  • Collaborate with SoC and platform architects to define power management requirements and test plans
  • Support silicon bring-up, pre-silicon simulation/emulation debug activities
  • Supervise and mentor a team of firmware engineers, fostering growth through coaching and technical guidance
  • Lead firmware simulation model development
