About The Position

OmniOn Power is a leader in power conversion technology, providing innovative critical power solutions for 5G, data centers, and Industry 4.0. The company focuses on quality and operational excellence, supported by talented people and expertise. As a Power Electronics Firmware Intern, you will join the R&D Engineering team to develop firmware/software for AC/DC and DC/DC converters-based power supplies. This is an onsite internship located in Plano, Texas, estimated to run for 10 weeks from late May 2026 through early August 2026.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Must be able to work out of the OmniOn Power HQ located in Plano, TX during the duration of the internship
  • Strong software design knowledge, especially for desktop applications
  • Solid programming skills in at least one of: C++, C#/.NET, or Python
  • Experience with a GUI framework (e.g., Qt, WPF, or similar)
  • Good understanding of object-oriented design, design patterns, and clean code practices
  • Familiarity with communication protocols commonly used in embedded/industrial systems (e.g., TCP/IP, UART, CAN, Modbus, etc.)
  • Familiarity with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows
  • Basic knowledge of UI/UX principles for building intuitive user interfaces
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening
