The Data Direct Networks Technology Center seeking an Associate Firmware Engineer to design, develop and maintain embedded storage firmware for our SFA product line. The ideal candidate will be involved with all aspects of the embedded software development process and will work with other engineers collaborating on the architecture, design and implementation of storage system features and new storage platforms. This is a hybrid role. The ideal candidate should be able to come into the Colorado Springs, CO office a few times a week

Requirements

  • BS or advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Entry-level with 1 year of experience with embedded firmware development
  • Experience in C would be beneficial.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Perl or Python
  • Experience with phases of the development life cycle
  • Experience with agile development processes and scrum teams
  • Experience with cross-site development
  • Experience with source code control and defect tracking systems

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test firmware features for the SFA storage controllers.
  • Isolate and resolve defects.
  • Collaborate with local and remote team members.
  • Be involved with all phases of the development life cycle including design documentation and unit test implementation as required.
  • This position requires participation in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support as needed.
