We are looking for an efficient, flexible and self-motivated firmware engineer who is interested in medical devices. You will be joining a company making devices that help over 2 million patients each year. As a member of the firmware team, you will be involved in all areas of medical firmware development including prototyping of new concepts, development of features, unit testing, issue investigations, code maintenance, peer code review, documentation with your coworkers. Developing firmware for medical devices means working within a highly regulated environment-but those standards are what empower us to build safe, reliable, and life-changing products.   • Involved in all areas of medical firmware development including prototyping of new concepts.
  • Development of features and unit testing.
  • Issue investigations and code maintenance.
  • Peer code review and documentation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field required.
  • Proficient in C.
  • At least 3 years of work experience, ideally in a regulated environment required (FDA preferred).
  • Experience interacting with software debugging in an embedded environment.
  • Experience controlling microprocessor hardware such as digital I/O, timers, ADCs, UARTs, low power modes, etc.
  • Comfortable using oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, etc.
  • Comfortable reading hardware datasheets.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (git), and release methodologies.
  • Disciplined and detail-oriented; experience delivering robust, readable code.
  • Open and helpful attitude when co-workers could benefit from assistance.
  • Familiarity with BLE chipsets from vendors such as Nordic Semiconductor and Texas Instruments.
  • Familiarity with a real-time event framework such as QP Framework.
  • Familiarity with AT-commands of cellular LTE modules.
  • Familiarity with low-power microcontroller design.
  • Familiarity with MISRA or other coding standards.
