About The Position

Requirements

• NYS 229 professional Firefighter Certification or similar training level.
• NYS 229 Emergency Medical Technician Certification or similar training level.
• NYS Haz-Mat Technician training.
• Fire Protection Technology associate in applied science.

Responsibilities

• Complete inspections of buildings and fire protection equipment.
• Operate equipment for shutdowns related to maintenance or construction.
• Maintain records of inspections and impairments for insurance and governmental authorities.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in chemical spill control and reporting.
• Issue permits for safe hot work and confined space entry.
• Train employees and tenants in fire safety procedures and emergency evacuation.
• Provide 24/7 on-call assistance for emergencies and incidents.
• Respond to emergencies including fires, chemical spills, and medical emergencies.
• Assist in coordinating municipal first responders during emergencies.
