Requirements

• 18 years of age by May 16, 2026
• High school graduate or GED
• Physically able to perform the duties of a firefighter trainee as defined by the City of Johnson City
• Not have been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor involving moral turpitude other than a minor traffic violation
• Applicants must possess a valid drivers' license with NO suspensions or revocations within the past 24 cumulative months

Nice To Haves

• Active Fire Fighter I & II certification from a validated Fire Service Training Program (verified by the Johnson City Fire Department)
• Current valid Tennessee or National Registry Emergency Medical Technician Licensure
