Firefighter/Paramedic (Engineer Assignment)
About The Position
The City of Orem Fire Department is currently hiring for lateral Paramedic positions for an Engineer Assignment with a minimum of four (4) years of full-time firefighting experience. This is a full-time, benefitted position that requires IFSAC or ProBoard certification in ADO Pumper, ADO Aerial, and EMT or Paramedic Certification. Certification for Officer I is preferred.Pay for the Firefighter/Paramedic position ranges from $62,410.02 to $93,940.26 annually. Individuals with an Engineer assignment will be given an additional 3% in pay after placement on the Fire Hybrid Step System. Individual starting salary will depend on qualifications, certifications, and experience. The City also provides a comprehensive and competitive benefits package. Lateral hires will receive up front PTO and STML hours, and will be given credit for years of experience when determining the PTO accrual rate. Laterals will recieve an incentive bonus of $3,000 ($1,500 upon hire, and $1,500 after successful completion of 12 month probation).Shift - 48/96Those interested in applying must submit an application along with a resume and copies of the required certifications online. Requirements
- Minimum of four (4) years of full-time firefighting experience
- IFSAC or ProBoard certification in ADO Pumper
- IFSAC or ProBoard certification in ADO Aerial
- EMT or Paramedic Certification
- Firefighter I & II
- ADO Pumper
- ADO Aerial
- NREMT or State of Utah Paramedic certification
- Candidates who currently possess only one of either the Firefighter II or Paramedic/EMT certifications must be currently enrolled in a program to obtain the certification not held.
- Must possess a valid Driver's License
- Must have no illegal drug use/convictions within the last three years
- Successful applicants may be required to pass a medical, psychological, Computer Voice Stress Analysis (CVSA) examination(s), and will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- This position is subject to random drug testing.
