About The Position
The position of Firefighter involves performing a wide variety of technical tasks in support of fire suppression, rescue, hazardous materials, emergency medical, and prevention functions. Supervision is provided by either a Fire Lieutenant, Fire Captain, or Chief Officer. The role requires adherence to the Code of Conduct and Rules of Behavior outlined in the General Government Policies and Procedures Manual as well as the Mesquite Fire Department Rules and Regulations. Firefighters are expected to respond to emergency incidents safely and timely, participate in firefighting duties, provide life support to patients, and maintain fire department vehicles and equipment. Additional responsibilities include participating in fire prevention duties, drills, training sessions, and documentation of EMS incidents.
