Requirements

• Must possess Firefighter I and II certifications.
• Must have a valid state driver's license.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain required licenses and certifications.
• Must be less than 37 years of age at the time of appointment or meet specific age requirements.
• Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a fully trained member of a firefighting crew engaged in a full range of emergency response.
• Performs fire suppression, emergency medical, hazardous material, and specialized rescue response.
• Uses various tools and equipment to perform fire ground operations.
• Provides information to groups and individuals orally and in writing.
• Controls and extinguishes fires, operates hose lines, and performs fire ground operations.
• Drives and operates a full range of complex vehicles and apparatus.
• Performs Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) duties including patient assessment and physical examination.
• Alternates as Lead Firefighter responsible for directing firefighting activities and administrative duties.
