About The Position

As a Fire Testing Lead Technician, you'll be responsible for the successful execution of on-site testing projects. Your day will start by reviewing project documentation and developing a clear, effective testing plan. Once on-site, you will lead your team in the comprehensive testing of all fire and life safety systems, including: Test the smoke detectors, heat detectors, duct detectors, water flow switches, pull stations, horn/strobes, horns, bells , sirens, and back up power of commercial buildings. Test fire doors, fire pumps, and perform elevator recall. Ensure all inspections, testing, and maintenance are performed strictly in accordance with national standards, primarily NFPA 72 (National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code), as well as local codes and jurisdictional requirements. Direct, instruct, and mentor technicians on proper work methods, safety protocols, and NFPA standards. At TRL Systems, we've been keeping people and their property safe for over 42 years. Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience in fire life safety testing
  • Los Angeles Chief’s Regulation 4 Certificate of Fitness (in one or more categories)
  • High school diploma (or equivalent)
  • Valid California Driver License and proof of auto insurance.
  • Ability to drive for 2+ hours in a work shift/day, daily.
  • Ability to walk, bend, stoop, hear, and speak, daily.
  • Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, under all temperature variations.
  • Work environment may be construction sites, commercial buildings, and high-rise buildings,
  • Ascend/Descend and work at heights above 6ft and extreme heights, occasionally
  • Move/Transport/Install/Remove items weighing 20+ pounds, daily
  • Pushing/Pulling using upper extremities, daily
  • Position self to work in confined spaces, occasionally
  • Hours will vary, must be able to work on-call, weekends, nights, split shifts, and rotating shifts (if needed).
