About The Position

Total Safety is seeking a Fire Technician II to join our dedicated and safety-conscious team. The Fire Technician II plays a crucial role in providing service inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair for a variety of fire equipment. This equipment typically includes portable and semi-portable fire extinguishers, lifesaving equipment, fire and gas detection systems, foam systems, dry chemical systems, navigational aids, gaseous suppression systems, and sprinkler systems. In this role, you will be responsible for performing both shop service and field inspections. This includes testing, maintenance, and repair of fire equipment, which may involve customer portable and fixed fire extinguisher systems, lifesaving and navigation aid equipment, fixed breathing air systems, fire detection and alarm system components, and water-based fire protection equipment. You will be expected to complete all documentation associated with inspections and repairs in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring that proper invoicing and documentation are provided to customers. This includes obtaining customer signatures on inspection and repair documents, job cost billable expenses, and time sheets. Additionally, you will conduct detailed visual inspections and functional tests of various systems and equipment, reporting any deficiencies and providing corrective action recommendations to customers. You will also assist in maintaining the facility, including stocking shelves with clean, tested, and ready-to-use equipment, and preparing customer orders for delivery. Maintaining a clean and orderly work area is essential, as is performing basic maintenance on assigned vehicles or trailers. You will operate electronic safety and communications systems, rig up and use a wide range of safety equipment, and be trained and certified to work both onshore and offshore exploration and production environments.
