About The Position

The Fire Suppression Technician at Vanguard Fire & Security Systems, Inc. is responsible for the service, inspection, and repair of fire protection systems, particularly fire sprinkler systems. This role emphasizes customer service and technical expertise, ensuring that systems are functioning correctly and safely. The technician will work independently and as part of an on-call rotation, responding to service calls and maintaining compliance with safety protocols.

Requirements

• Previous experience in fire suppression and fire alarm systems is preferred.
• 1-3 years of previous customer service experience.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Trade School or Apprenticeship preferred.
• Excellent mechanical skills and ability to work from blueprints.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail in a physically demanding environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting service, inspection, and repairs of fire sprinkler systems.
• Read blueprints for existing pipe layout and make the right equipment accommodations to complete the job.
• Communicate with customers to understand system deficiencies and make recommendations for repair.
• Document inspections, repairs, and deficiencies.
• Share job information for follow-up quotes, questions, or concerns.
• Maintain a safe work environment and comply with the company's safety protocols.
• Respond to service calls as part of an on-call rotation, which may require after-hour or weekend availability.
