About The Position

Assist in the installation of wet, dry, pre-action and deluge fire protection piping, valves and accessories for commercial, residential buildings, and industrial applications in compliance with current codes. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED; or 0-6 months related experience or training.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb 8-10 ft ladders, balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; frequently required to talk or hear; lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the installation and repair of fire sprinkler systems per specifications
  • Lays out strings (pipe) along designated pipeline settings in field.
  • Connects pipe, using snap lock or wrench to tighten collar clamp.
  • Attaches revolving sprinkler heads to vertical pipes at designated points along pipeline.
  • Communicate witih foreman and/or superintendent on work related, safety issues or other job site issues.
  • Maintain clean, organized and safe work area.
  • Adhere to company safe working policies and procedures at all times.
