About The Position

ERG is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Technician to support the inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems at client facilities. This role is critical to ensuring life safety, regulatory compliance, and system reliability across assigned sites. This full-time position is at the Naval Support Facility (NSF) Indian Head. Indian Head, Maryland, is approximately 30 miles from Washington, D.C.; 25 miles from Alexandria, Virginia; and 60 miles from Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent years of experience
  • NICET Level I certification
  • 2+ years of experience inspecting, installing, or maintaining fire sprinkler systems
  • Ability to safely install or modify various types of sprinkler piping apparatus such as copper, black iron and galvanized steel
  • Knowledge of applicable NFPA codes (e.g., NFPA 13, 25)
  • Ability to read and interpret system drawings, plans, and technical documentation
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality
  • Must be able to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shifts
  • Must be able to use carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other gear to move items
  • Must be able to go up and down stairs, where applicable
  • Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret-level security clearance
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, as this position is not eligible for Limited Access Authorizations
  • This position will require a pre-employment physical exam
  • This position requires lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Work may be performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g., fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals)
  • You may be required to participate in medical surveillance programs

Nice To Haves

  • NICET Level II and III certifications
  • State or local fire sprinkler technician license
  • Experience working in industrial, federal, or secured facilities
  • Navy or Department of Defense experience is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, test, maintain, and repair fire sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA standards, applicable codes, and client requirements
  • Perform routine and corrective maintenance on wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge sprinkler systems
  • Identify deficiencies, troubleshoot system issues, and recommend corrective actions
  • Accurately document inspection results, deficiencies, and completed work
  • Coordinate with project managers, site personnel, and inspectors as needed
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory to ensure they are in safe working condition
  • Comply with all safety policies, procedures, and site-specific requirements
