About The Position

1st Fire Protection Services, LLC is a privately owned fire protection company specializing in the design, fabrication, installation, maintenance, and inspection of fire protection systems in commercial and industrial buildings. With offices in San Antonio, Austin, McAllen, Waco, Houston, College Station, Lubbock, and Laredo, we are proud to serve communities across Texas with integrity, safety, and excellence. We are seeking a Fire Sprinkler Service Foreman to oversee the service, inspection, repair, and maintenance work on fire sprinkler systems. This role ensures all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with NFPA standards, local codes, and company policies. The service foreman represents the company on job sites, communicates with customers, and provides provides direction to service helpers and technicians.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the fire sprinkler industry with expertise in various systems, preferred. Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA 13, 25, and related standards.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to direct field personnel effectively.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret construction documents and technical manuals.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record that meets company standards.
  • Reliable transportation to job sites.
  • Ability to work at heights of up to 60 feet and in confined or challenging spaces.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with basic electrical work is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform service, inspection, repair, and troubleshooting of fire sprinkler systems
  • Review daily schedules, plan work, coordinate materials, and ensure the service team is prepared for each assignment.
  • Provide on-site supervision, guidance, and training to service helpers and technicians.
  • Ensure all work meets NFPA standards and local codes.
  • Accurately complete service tickets, deficiency reports, timesheets, and related documentation.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service and represent the company in a professional manner.
  • Enforce and follow all company safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Operate and maintain tools and equipment including power machines, threaders, lifts, and ladders.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and be available for flexible hours, including weekends when needed.
  • Perform physical labor, including lifting equipment up to 70 lbs and working in tight or elevated spaces (e.g., ladders, scaffolding, crawl spaces, ceilings).
