Role on the Team (Job Responsibilities): The basic function of the Sprinkler Helper will be to work with and learn from the Sprinkler Fitter/Foreman on the installation of fire sprinkler systems. You will be trained in quality standards and working within the various codes and standards associated with fire sprinkler systems Interact with customers on a daily basis. Requirements
- No prior fire protection experience required, just a demonstrated ability and desire to learn and help Good mechanical aptitude and works well with hands
- Willing to commute/travel to jobsites as needed
- Consistent attendance and punctuality
- Positive attitude and desire to learn and strive for success
- Ability to perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as working within ducts, crawl spaces, climbing a ladder, outside in the heat or cold, on lift equipment, or dirty environments
- Ability to transport equipment and tools weighing up to 40 lbs
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
Responsibilities
- Assist Fitter/Foreman on sprinkler install jobs, traveling to job sites as required by the specific assignment.
- Lay out and connect pipes using snap lock or wrench to tighten collar clamp.
- Attach revolving sprinkler heads to vertical pipes at designated points along pipeline.
- Communicate with foreman and/or superintendent any safety hazards and discrepancies found on job site.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Follow Safety rules and requirements.
