As a Fire Sprinkler System Designer/Project Manager at Bayside Fire, you will be responsible for designing fire protection sprinkler systems utilizing the latest 3D/BIM design software for a diverse range of commercial, industrial, and residential projects. This role requires a strong understanding of NFPA codes and standards, as well as the ability to apply these standards effectively in your designs. You will work closely with a team to ensure that all designs comply with applicable codes and industry practices, while also meeting the specific needs of each project. Your responsibilities will include reading and interpreting construction documents, such as drawings, specifications, and contracts, to inform your designs. You will need to interpret and apply NFPA standards based on various factors including building type, construction type, hazard classification, and architectural features. Additionally, you will perform field checks of completed designs to verify their accuracy and ensure they meet the required standards. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will coordinate with architects and other building trades to ensure seamless integration of the fire protection systems into the overall project. You will also be responsible for coordinating the delivery of system materials to the job site, ensuring that installations can begin on schedule. Safety is paramount, and you will be expected to follow all job site safety protocols during field checks and on-site meetings. This position requires a self-motivated individual with strong organizational and communication skills, who is willing to work in a team environment.
