About The Position

The responsibility of a Fire Sprinkler Apprentice is to assist in the laying out, fabricating, assembling, installing, and maintaining piping and piping systems, fixtures, sprinkling, and industrial processing systems. Requirements

HS Diploma or equivalent, required
Must be able to enroll and obtain current Fire Sprinkler License
Mechanical ability and basic hand tool knowledge
Work efficiently with minimal supervision under direction of Sprinkler Technicians
Basic math skills
Mechanical aptitude

Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required
Must be able to comply with SFS’s Drug and Alcohol policy and Background screening requirements, which may also include customer specific requirements based on contractual agreement

Ability to read electronic blueprints, strongly preferred

Responsibilities

Assist and learn under the direction of Sprinkler Technician Journeymen in installing pipe systems and valves
Assist and learn under the direction of Sprinkler Technician Journeymen in cutting, threading, assembling and bonding pipes and tubes according to specifications
Assist and learn under the direction of Sprinkler Technician Journeymen in modifying, cleaning and maintaining pipe systems, units and fittings
Assist and learn under the direction of Sprinkler Technician Journeymen in removing and replacing worn components
Learn to follow blueprints to meet product specifications
Learn how to calculate material measurements to verify specifications
Learn proper installation techniques
Other duties may be assigned
