About The Position

The Fire Sprinkler Apprentice/Fitter position at Performance Fire involves assisting the foreman in the installation, repair, maintenance, and inspection of water-based fire sprinkler systems. The role requires a focus on safety, effective communication, and customer service while working in various outdoor conditions and at different job sites.

Requirements

• Ability to perform all duties in a safe manner according to OSHA regulations.
• Effective communication skills with a variety of people including customers and construction teams.
• Customer-focused with a commitment to high-quality service.
• Ability to read and write in English at a level sufficient for understanding construction drawings and documents.
• A valid driver's license is preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience as a construction helper is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sprinkler pipes for installation including measuring and marking pipes for cutting and threading.
• Cutting, threading, and hammering pipe using tools such as pipe threaders.
• Doping fittings as needed.
• Cutting rods and greasing couplings.
• Clean or prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
• Read plans, instructions, or specifications to determine work activities.
• Assist the foreman in loading and/or unloading materials, machinery, or tools.
• Lubricate, clean, or repair machinery, equipment, or tools as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
