About The Position

The company is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Designer for its Northeast Team, located in Fondu Lac or Fond du Lac, WI. This role involves showcasing design skills on various fire protection sprinkler system projects, specifically designing automatic sprinkler systems using AutoCAD and AutoSprink. The Designer will collaborate with a Sales Project Manager to plan, organize, and execute projects, including conducting on-site field surveys, generating hydraulic calculations, submitting drawings for permits, performing 3D BIM coordination with NavisWorks, preparing stock lists, ensuring project timelines are met, and creating project close-out, operation, and maintenance documents. A key aspect of this role also includes mentoring and developing less experienced designers.

Requirements

  • Degree in a design/drafting related program
  • Proficient in AutoCAD
  • Mathematically and technically inclined to learn industry-specific software and codes

Responsibilities

  • Showcase design skills on various fire protection sprinkler system projects
  • Design automatic sprinkler systems using AutoCAD and AutoSprink
  • Plan, organize and execute projects in conjunction with a Sales Project Manager
  • Conduct on-site field surveys
  • Generate hydraulic calculations
  • Submit drawings to obtain the required building permits
  • Perform 3D BIM coordination using NavisWorks
  • Prepare stock lists
  • Ensure projects adhere to the proposed timeline
