About The Position
The Fire Fighter/Medic position is a full-time, non-exempt role within the Fire Services Department. The primary responsibilities include responding to fire alarms, emergency medical situations, and other calls to protect life and property. The role involves operating and maintaining vehicles, apparatus, equipment, stations, and communication systems, as well as teaching fire safety to the public. The work is performed under the general direction of the Battalion Chief and reports to the Fire Chief, without supervisory responsibilities. This position is designated as safety sensitive and is subject to random drug and alcohol screening.
