This position is scheduled to begin August 2026. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced faculty member to lead and instruct in our Fire Science program, serving as both a full-time instructor and the Program Director for the college's Fire Science Program and the Phoenix Fire Academy. This position plays a crucial role in educating students from diverse backgrounds in a comprehensive range of emergency medical education and fire science courses. The faculty member will be responsible for delivering instruction in areas such as fire services, fire behavior, fire safety, fire apparatus, fire command, tactics and strategies, ventilation, hydraulics, ladder operations, extrication, wildland firefighting, technical rescue (TRT), hazardous materials (Hazmat), and fitness and conditioning. Additionally, this role includes collaboration with the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Paramedic departments to enhance interdisciplinary training and assist in primary instruction as needed. As a Program Director, the faculty member will provide leadership in the supervision and oversight of students, staff, and faculty within the Fire Science program and Phoenix Fire Academy. This includes fostering partnerships with local agencies and emergency service organizations to ensure the highest-quality educational experience. The role also involves program expansion, course development, and maintaining accreditation standards to uphold excellence in fire science education.
