Summary/Objective: The Fire Protection Sprinkler Helper will assist the Sprinkler Fitter with the assembly and installation of fire protection sprinkler systems, installing sprinkler pipe, inspections, deficiencies, and repairs on various job sites.

Requirements

Minimum of 6 months construction or customer service experience; or equivalent combination of vocational training and experience
Knowledge of basic tools and materials
Understands and practices the proper use of power and hand tools
Possesses basic math and computation skills
Must be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills
Must adhere to all company policy and procedures
Must be available, and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assigned

Nice To Haves

Sprinkler experience in a construction industry
Ridgid 300 power machine (cutting and threading pipe) experience
Prior military experience
HS diploma or GED equivalent

Responsibilities

Inspects, repairs, tests, adjusts and removes sprinkler systems
Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
Selects specified type and size of pipe
Cuts, threads and hangs pipe
Assists in the installation of valves, couplings and other fittings
Assists in the lifting, positioning and securing of materials and work pieces during installation
Follows proper construction practices and company policy
Performs other duties as assigned
