Summary/Objective: The Fire Protection Sprinkler Fitter is responsible for the installation and testing of automatic fire suppression systems within our new construction division.

Requirements

2+ years of experience as a Fire Protection Sprinkler Fitter; or equivalent combination of vocational training and experience
Ability to interpret blueprints and architectural drawings
Knowledge of NFPA Standards
Must be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills
Must adhere to all company policy and procedures
Must be available, and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assigned

Nice To Haves

4+ years as a Fire Protection Sprinkler Fitter on heavy commercial construction projects
Prior military experience
HS diploma or GED equivalent

Responsibilities

The Fire Protection Sprinkler Fitter reads and interprets drawings and specifications to determine layout requirements
Installs clamps, brackets and hangers to support piping system and sprinkler and fire protection equipment
Connects piping system to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment
Tests system for leaks using air or liquid pressure equipment
Trains and directs the day to day work of a Helper
Maintains appropriate documentation for the work performed
Performs other duties as assigned
