Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) with 6 years of experience or Professional Engineer in Fire Protection Engineering with 5 years of experience.
  • NIMS ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800 certifications required.
  • Reviewing construction and facility designs for code compliance, review fire suppression and water spray systems for regulatory compliance and conducting acceptance testing of installed fire alarm and fire suppression related systems.
  • Strong knowledge of National Fire Codes, ADA, OSHA Standards, Florida Building Codes, IBC, and NASA requirements.
  • Proficient with computers and MS Office applications.
  • Must be at least 21 years old, possess a valid Class E Florida state driver’s license, and have no record or history of illegal drug use, sale, possession, or manufacture during the previous five years.
  • Must successfully complete all training and obtain all required licenses, certifications, and security/medical clearances for the site.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the SME for fire protection, covering construction types, occupancy classification, water supplies, and more.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive fire protection program in compliance with NASA standards.
  • Conduct fire risk analyses, engineering surveys, and support facility projects with code compliance and inspections.
  • Participate in pre-construction conferences, final inspections, and acceptance tests of fire protection systems.
  • Provide code compliance consultation for NASA engineering and facility managers.
