About The Position
The Fire Protection Specialist 1/Trainee 1/Trainee 2 position is under the direction of the Fire Protection Specialist 2 and supports the activities of the Fire and Life Safety Branch within the Office of Fire Prevention and Control. The incumbent will conduct fire and life safety inspections, provide technical assistance and instruction to various stakeholders, issue permits related to fireworks and enforce regulations, obtain necessary certifications, develop and provide training, respond to emergency incidents, and ensure compliance with laws and regulations. The role requires significant travel, approximately 60%, often overnight in assigned geographic locations.
