We're looking for a Fire Protection Engineer to join our Northeast Fire and Life Safety team! In this role, you will support a wide variety of projects involving code consulting, system design/evaluation, fire modeling, etc. for a diverse group of clientele throughout the Northeast Region and across the U.S.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field
  • Engineering-in-Training (EIT) preferred
  • At least 2 years of experience in the evaluation and/or design of Fire Protection Systems
  • Familiarity with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standards, including Life Safety Code Requirements for both new construction and modifications to existing buildings preferred
  • Exposure to the application of fire modeling (i.e. FDS, CONTAM, Pathfinder, CFAST, etc.) preferred
  • AutoCAD and/or REVIT design capability and experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Advise managers how to apply a wide variety of existing procedures and precedents.
  • Conduct research using primary data sources, and select information needed for the analysis of key themes and trends.
  • Identify shortcomings in existing processes, systems, and procedures, and use established change management programs to address them.
  • Work within established audit control systems to deliver specified outcomes or provide general support.
  • Collect business requirements using a variety of methods, such as interviews, document analysis, workshops, and workflow analysis, to express the requirements in terms of target user roles and goals.
  • Use product specifications to design test procedures and standards.
  • Work within established procedures to achieve specified goals.
  • Carry out a range of product development and engineering activities. Use established systems to analyze customer needs and define and deliver products.
  • Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals.
  • Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships by using relevant sales or client systems.
