GHD is seeking a driven and experienced Fire Protection Engineer to become a key contributor to our expanding Northeast Fire Protection & Life Safety group. This is an exciting opportunity for a licensed professional with deep expertise in fire protection engineering principles, system design, code consulting, and project management. As a Fire Protection Engineer at GHD, you’ll lead and manage diverse projects, delivering high-quality fire protection and life safety services. You’ll prepare scopes of work, budgets, and proposals; oversee fire alarm and sprinkler system designs; conduct building code reviews and smoke control modeling; and serve as a trusted technical advisor to clients. You’ll collaborate with Authorities Having Jurisdiction, mentor junior staff, and help shape the future of our fire protection practice. Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in: Recommendations: Advise managers how to apply a wide variety of existing procedures and precedents. Data Collection and Analysis: Conduct research using primary data sources, and select information needed for the analysis of key themes and trends. Improvement/Innovation: Identify shortcomings in existing processes, systems, and procedures, and use established change management programs to address them. Audit: Work within established audit control systems to deliver specified outcomes or provide general support. Business Requirements Identification: Collect business requirements using a variety of methods, such as interviews, document analysis, workshops, and workflow analysis, to express the requirements in terms of target user roles and goals. Testing: Use product specifications to design test procedures and standards. Policy Development and Implementation: Work within established procedures to achieve specified goals. Product and Solution Development: Carry out a range of product development and engineering activities. Use established systems to analyze customer needs and define and deliver products. Project Management: Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals. Client & Customer Management (External): Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships by using relevant sales or client systems.
