About The Position

Coffman Engineers’ is seeking a highly motivated Fire Protection Engineer with zero to three years of experience to join our team of professionals! You would support our Fire Protection Department in providing our clients with: automatic suppression system design; fire detection, alarm and mass notification system design; code analysis; egress analysis; fire resistant construction analysis; smoke control analysis; as well as general fire protection and life safety concepts and research.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Fire Protection specific degree is required.
• Registered as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) (preferred).
• 0-3 years of working experience.
• Experience with the current version of AutoCAD and Revit (preferred).
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Computer skills necessary for daily activities, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and simple graphics.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.

Responsibilities

• Support the Fire Protection Department in providing clients with fire protection services.
• Design automatic suppression systems.
• Design fire detection, alarm, and mass notification systems.
• Conduct code analysis and egress analysis.
• Perform fire resistant construction analysis and smoke control analysis.
• Conduct research and document findings for internal and external distribution.
• Analyze existing fire protection systems and design new systems.

• Approximate Base Salary – 75k-100k based on experience.
• Paid overtime at 1.0 times hourly rate.
