About The Position

Job Summary: This position is responsible for the delivery of BIM and CAD design services for fire protection systems such as Wet, Dry, and Pre-action. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Able to execute project design responsibilities with little supervision Sizing and layout of equipment and distribution systems such as sprinkler heads and piping Perform hydraulic calculations, selection and layout of equipment, and piping system design for fire sprinkler systems Create spool drawings that are clearly labeled and accurately dimensioned for construction feasibility and pre-fabrication Assist in the development of the systems submittals and approval process thereof Assist with coordination of design and installation in new construction and retrofit projects with project management and field staff Field engineering: assist with project execution, site surveys, trade coordination, scheduling, document management and problem solving, as required Setup and model 2D/3D drawings using AutoCAD, AutoSPRINK, and other BIM software Manage time to meet project schedules and task deadlines Manage files on share sites, network servers, and software platforms Process and manage backgrounds provided by trade partners Use Bluebeam or other drawing markup tools to coordinate changes with designers and engineers Check completed work for quality, clarity, and use of ACCO BIM standards Prepare project-deliverable packages for transmittal/submission Communicate design and constructability issues/challenges with project team Effectively and professionally communicate and foster collaboration with colleagues and project team members Apply training and project experience, and demonstrate constant improvement of technical abilities Other duties as assigned by Manager

Requirements

  • Proficient basic computer software skills (Windows Explorer, Word, Excel, Gmail)
  • Working knowledge and/or experience with BIM software such as AutoCAD and AutoSPRINK
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role

Nice To Haves

  • Technical associate or bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • NICET I certification or higher preferred
