About The Position

Under general direction, reviews and processes orders submitted by various U.S. Fire districts. Sources required materials and expedites orders to meet operational and organizational needs while adhering to Johnson Controls purchasing standards. Maintains accurate and organized records. Provides support for special projects and assists with order‑related initiatives as needed. About the role: Develop, analyze, optimize, and standardize logistics and distribution processes and systems Support logistics strategies that enhance product delivery from suppliers to service technicians Coordinate the supply and distribution of materials and goods for the service department Manage sourcing, requisitioning, logistics, supply‑chain activities, and inventory control Ensure timely procurement of all products and services Collaborate across multiple functions and work with internal stakeholders to improve distribution network design and inventory allocation Lead and coordinate initiatives by identifying best practices and applying process‑improvement methodologies to enhance operational efficiency and delivery performance Review material requests, determine whether they require transfers or new orders, and prepare purchase requisitions to support the service organization Track orders through final delivery and communicate order availability Maintain basic databases and spreadsheets Perform daily order management with suppliers and internal customers Provide additional support and complete other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in a purchasing, order management, or customer service role
  • Previous experience in a high-volume transactional environment and/or customer-facing role
  • Skilled in full MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Able to master usage of customized IT applications (Oracle)
  • Must be able to be an effective communicator with all levels of internal customers, staff and management
  • Detailed oriented & possess a strong sense of urgency
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background and drug test
