Under direction from NYRA Management, the Emergency Response Specialist is responsible for ensuring full compliance with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards and New York State Building Codes as they pertain to fire safety. The Fire Marshal works to prevent and suppress fires and responds to all emergency situations—exercising judgment and initiative to control and resolve incidents. NYRA’s objective is to prevent and minimize injury, loss of life, and property damage in all emergencies and fire situations. Must be able to work on a racing schedule Wednesday through Sunday. You must be able to remain on your feet for extended periods, with extensive walking and stair use. You must have no fear of horses and be comfortable working in large crowd venues.
