About The Position

United Security is looking to hire a full-time Fire and Life Safety Director. Fire and Life Safety Director Shift Hours: 12:00AM-08:00AM, Fri-Mon (hours may vary) Fire and Life Safety Director Details, Duties, & Responsibilities:   -Monitor guest areas for unauthorized people, suspicious activity and/or any discrepancies. Remain attentive to any abnormalities, all of which include any form of safety hazards, and emergency cases.   -Emergency response (i.e., fire, police, ambulance work force) should be reached in the event of any irregularities. Direct and assist in emergency procedures, ensuring that the fire safety plan is executed accordingly.   -Assure that all fire and safety systems, including fire alarms and smoke detectors are functioning; report any defective systems as needed.   -Guarantee that information is neatly and appropriately recorded into all logbooks in accordance with the NYC Fire Code.   -Ensure that Security Guards are present for their scheduled shifts and located at their designated post. Ensure Security Guards are in full uniform, comply with post orders, and company policy.   -Assist with any needs or requests hotel guests may have.   -Maintain a hospitable and safe environment for all guests and hotel personnel.   -Communicate with regional management and property manager.   Supervision Responsibilities:   • Provide leadership and guidance to the on-site security team during overnight shifts. • Conduct regular post inspections to ensure guards are alert, compliant, and meeting service expectations.   • Train, mentor, and evaluate new and current security personnel to ensure adherence to company standards and policies.   • Coordinate with site management and client representatives to address performance issues or procedural changes.   • Prepare incident and disciplinary reports as needed and escalate concerns to management.   • Assist in creating and maintaining staffing schedules, ensuring adequate coverage at all times.   • Lead periodic emergency drills and ensure staff readiness in fire/life safety scenarios.

Requirements

  • A valid New York State Security Guard License
  • Experience in security, armed or unarmed
  • Supervisory experience in building security strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to manage, train, and evaluate staff effectively
  • One of the following Fire and Life Safety Director COF licenses: F, N, T, Z 89
  • Ability and willingness to stand and be mobile
  • Schedule flexibility as the hours vary
